6,000 gun owners have registered on Facebook to openly defy Washington State’s new gun control laws at the state capitol on December 13th, 2014.
The rare event is made more unusual as the law was passed by popular vote, unheard of in recent memory in any state.
Thousands Of Washington State Gun Owners Plan Huge Civil Disobedience Event

Universal background checks for gun buyers became law in Washington state and goes into effect on Dec. 4th this year. It was supported by no less than 60% of votes.
Gun owners claim that billionaires bought the law, however, contributing 50% of the $10 million budget that supported the bill, which was 10 times as much as the opposition.

“We will rally at the capitol, openly exchange guns, unveil and plan to break apart the entire legislation and violate I-594 in every possible way … We will buy and sell guns from whom we please, we will not submit to background checks, we will not give up our rights, WE WILL NOT comply.”
Under I-594, transmitting a gun to someone in most circumstances – such as lending your gun to a family member or friend at the shooting range would constitute a felony. Many gun owners have transmitted their gun at one point to a friend or relative to try firing a gun. Washington State’s residents are gun owners. Washington has a population of almost 7 million people, and that means that nearly 2.3 million gun owners could now be felons for doing what they have done for years concerning guns.
What could the police going to do if 5,500 gun owners all commit felonies by transmitting their guns to each other at the same time? It would be impossible to try and arrest all 5,500. Local law enforcement even opposes I-594, and so do more than two-thirds elected county sheriffs in Washington. A recent contender for Yakima County Sheriff is assisting in setting up the gathering.
Until people stops coupling guns exclusively with bad guys, and recognizes that guns are what innocent people must use to protect themselves from the bad guys, rights – invading legislation like I-594 will erode our right to bear arms.
